Ingredients of Majun Suhag Sonth:
Abhal (Junperus Communis) : Juniper is a short to medium-height tree that grows wild in some parts of Europe, North America, and Asia. There are many varieties of juniper, but Juniperus communis is the most common in North America.People use the juniper berry to make medicine. Medicinal preparations include the extract of juniper berry, as well as the essential oil of juniper berry. Don’t confuse juniper berry oil with cade oil, which is distilled from juniper wood (Juniperus oxycedrus).Juniper is used for digestion problems including upset stomach, intestinal gas (flatulence), heartburn, bloating, and loss of appetite, as well as gastrointestinal (GI) infections and intestinal worms. It is also used for urinary tract infections (UTIs) and kidney and bladder stones. Other uses include treating snakebite, diabetes, and cancer.
Burada Sandal Safaid (Santalum album) : White sandalwood is an evergreen tree. The oil from the wood and the wood are used as medicine. Don’t confuse white sandalwood with red sandalwood.White sandalwood is used for treating the common cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore mouth and throat. It is also used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), liverdisease, gallbladder problems, heatstroke, gonorrhea, headache, and conditions of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease).
Badyan (Foeniculam vulgare) : Fennel is a perennial, pleasant-smelling herb with yellow flowers. It is native to the Mediterranean, but is now found throughout the world. Dried fennel seeds are often used in cooking as an anise-flavored spice. But don’t confuse fennel with anise; though they look and taste similar, they are not the same. Fennel’s dried ripe seeds and oil are used to make medicine.Fennel is used for various digestive problems including heartburn, intestinal gas, bloating, loss of appetite, and colic in infants. It is also used for upper respiratory tract infections, coughs, bronchitis, cholera, backache, bedwetting, and visual problems.
Pathani Lodh (Symplocos racemosus) : Lodhra is also known as Rodhra (Rodhaka) which literally means one which stops or arrests. This name is given due to its therapeutic efficacy to stop abnormal bleeding. Due to this property it is used to normalize menstrual bleeding.Lodhra is effective medicine for Raktapitta or varieties of bleeding disorders and includes bleeding from anus (guda), vagina (yoni), nasika (nose) etc. Raktapitta can be due to eating food items which are hot, acidic potency (katu, amla vipaka), heat and indigestion of food, and its symptoms include Loss of appetite, Eructation’s of sour taste and of bad smell, Frequent urge for vomiting, Burning all over body etc. In such cases intake of Lodhra bark gives relief due to itscooling, astringent and laxative properties.
